Beauty.
Sheer beauty. Beauty is a subjective quality. It can be elusive for some. Abundant for others. I feel lucky to have found such vivid examples of beauty during my trip to Haiti.
Beauty in artistry.
Beadwork pillows made by the hands of artists at Jean Baptiste's atelier in Croix-des-Bouquets
Beauty in the landscapes.
Beauty in people.
Meeting Leissa, a smart six year old school girl who likes math.
Beauty.
That is what I found in Haiti.
What beauty have you found lately?

I have had this post ready for over a week, waiting for today to hit publish. With the recent passing of the stunning on the inside and out Susan Niebur, I debated pushing this post aside, writing instead a tribute to her. But as I thought about it, Susan saw the beauty in everything. She saw beauty in life, in science, in love, and in the activities that make each day unique. So it is for Susan that on the day that we celebrate her life, under a full moon, I remember the importance of finding beauty. There have been so many tributes written, by so many beautiful voices. Voices like Teach Mama, Jessica, Stimey, Mommy Needs a Cocktail, and Marty. There are more. So many more. Beautiful memories, words, reminders of the impact that Susan had on each one of us.
For me, tonight, I am going to look at the moon, the beauty….and that will be enough.

Those pillows are gorgeous!
To understand the beauty in any place is in itself, beautiful. I’m glad I have the privilege of life and of sight to see the beauty in pictures, landscapes, words, and other things that shine bright.
Elena, I think looking at the moon is a good idea, and I will do the same as I must remember that there is so much beauty to be viewed and looked at – today (:
What a beautiful tribute. Simple. Pure and as always Elena, thinking of others.
