Very soon, I will be on a flight, almost ready to touch down in Port Au Prince Haiti for what I would call, the trip of a lifetime.
Getting ready for a trip of this sort is no small task. There were schedules to coordinate for Principessa. There were play dates and dentist appointments, husbands and ex-husbands to organize for the five days would be away.
Five days….that is nothing.
But those five days are going to be life changing. And I cannot wait.
This is not what I would describe as a vacation. It will be an adventure, it will be eye opening, and it will be magical.
But not because we are going to be sitting on the beach with a cold drink.
We will be visiting Sean Penn’s relief camp, the J/P HRO camp, and visiting a school. We will be visiting with women that lost everything, except for their passion. We will be visiting with Heart of Haiti artisans and marveling at the magic with which they create beautiful and skillful pieces that carry on family traditions.
Ananda Leeke said it best, this trip is about “Promoting the story of Haiti which is about hope and resiliency.”
I will be traveling with several other bloggers on this trip. Ana Flores, Justice Jonesie, Jennifer James, Leticia Barr, and Jeannete Kaplun. You can follow along on our adventures at #Bloggers4Haiti on twitter or at Heart of Haiti.

Disclosure: I am not being compensated for this post and the trip to Haiti is at my own expense, except for a small but generous scholarship to help fund the trip.
